Long Term Care

Araglen House is registered with the HSE to provide long term care under the Fair Deal Scheme. Most of our residents avail of this scheme as it assists them with paying for their stay with us. Full details of the scheme are available from The Health Services Executive

We also provide long term care to private residents who do not avail of the Fair Deal. We also have a dedicated Dementia Specific Unit known as Bluebell which is an 18 bed facility.

Long term care is also offered to privately paying residents who do not wish to participate in the Fair Deal Scheme.

Respite Care

Respite Care is available to those who need it. Quite often people come to Araglen House on respite if their main carer is away on holiday, for example, or if their house is being adapted.

Respite Care is usually paid for privately or with the assistance of The Health Services Executive.

Convalescent Care

Convalescent Care is very common and is provided to people who have just left hospital. This care is usually paid for by the individual or through the hospital under what is known as ‘transitional funding’.

We would recommend that you speak to the discharge coordinator in the hospital if you are seeking this type of care.

We are also registered with all of the insurance companies who will make a contribution to the cost of care on behalf of their policyholders.
