Owner of Araglen House Nursing Home along with his wife Maryclare, Paul has worked in the nursing home industry for 18 years and was a Founding Director of Nursing Homes Ireland, the industry representative organisation. 

Paul is responsible for ensuring that Araglen House has all of the resources necessary to meet the needs of all residents. Paul’s official title is “Registered Provider Representative” which is the legal term for the person responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.  

Although Paul’s role is not day to day management of the nursing home (see Adrienn Zagyva) he is nevertheless based in Araglen House every day. Paul is committed to providing the excellence in care that Araglen House promises, offering support, advice, and oversight to his dedicated team.

Director of Nursing

My role as Director of Nursing is very rewarding and I love working with elderly people. I feel I really make a difference to their lives. My primary goal is to empower residents—to enable them to make choices and decisions in a supportive and nurturing environment, helping them feel part of their community, and having an excellent quality of life. For people with high levels of care needs, Araglen Home support is invaluable. With proper, attentive, and respectful care, we ensure that all residents retain their dignity and independence during the latter stages of life.

I believe that my strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, empathy, being adaptable & positive, prioritising safe, quality of care, honesty, and transparency, will serve you well.

I have over 30 years Nursing experience. I hold an MSc in Nursing and BSc in Teaching and I have a postgraduate qualification of Intensive Care Nurse.

I have worked in a 2nd largest Military hospital in Hungary for 13 years as an ICN and 17 years at Bridhaven Nursing Home, Mallow. I held many positions through my years there; HCA, RGN, Senior Nurse, CNM and Assistant Person in charge in the last 4.5 years.

I hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Healthcare, Foundation in Gerontological Nursing, Risk Management, Quality and Infection Prevention and Control & Audit, QQI Level 6; Dementia care, Nursing Regulation in Healthcare, Training Delivery and Evaluation, People Management Development Programme and Supervisory Management.

Resident & Family Liaison Manager
My role is to support residents and their loved ones by sharing the journey of moving from home to Araglen Home, whether that be for a period of respite or for longer term care and supporting you in the process.

I am an Older Persons Clinical Nurse Specialist and my master’s degree thesis explored the needs of caregivers of people with dementia.

I have previously worked with the HSE and was awarded regional winner South by the Irish Institute of Community Health Nurses in 2016.

Hi, my name is Alex and my role as Assistant Director of Nursing is to support the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest professional standards are maintained using a person-centered approach.

I have over 8 years of experience in elderly care and in working with residents who have cognitive impairment as well as those in who need palliative care.

I am passionate about Care of The Elderly and I believe that we at Araglen House are committed to delivering the best care for our residents.

My role as the Assistant Director of Nursing is to support the Director of Nursing in the management of staff and the provision of resident care, to ensure the highest professional standards are maintained using an evidence based, person-centred approach. 

I have over 13 years of experience as a nurse and having worked in different health sectors (acute, occupational, and aged care), this has helped me in hone my clinical skills to promote high quality of care.

I am very passionate in the care for the elderly. I completed my Post graduate certificate in gerontological nursing in UCC, QQI level 6 programme in leadership and management and completed my QQI level 6 programme in training delivery and evaluation. I have worked as a nurse manager since 2018 – from senior staff nurse, clinical nurse manager and assistant director of nursing.
